Jesse Snipes

How I got here 

I was born the very same year that CBC moved into the bowling alley building where we still exist today. Ever since then, I have had the pleasure and honor of being shaped and molded by the people of Capo Beach Church. After being cared for and encouraged for so many years by my children's pastor and youth pastors, I was called to give back. So I served in our youth ministries for about 8 years, and lived with our missionaries in the Dominican Republic for a year. After graduating from Vanguard University, I began working at CBC as the Global Missions Pastor. I now currently serve in a Communications/Administrative Pastoral role and I absolutaly love it. 

What I do here

I guess a little bit of everything. My main role is to provide and maintain our church with current, efficient, and effective means of communication between staff, leaders, volunteers and members allowing new members to connect, volunteers to engage and leaders to thrive. My goal is that everyone stays well-informed on what's going on in the life of our church and that they can easily become a part of it.

There are plenty of ways I get to do all that. I get ot oversee our web presence, social media, weekly announcements, bulletins, emails, etc... I do a lot of photography and graphic designing for different ministries and events. I maintain our database system which does everyting from managing tithing to children's check-in to organizing small groups. 

Why I do what I do

Peter talks about overseers being eager to serve not out of obligation, but because they are willing. I feel like God has gifted me with an eagerness and willingness to serve in so many ways that, at times, I overwhelm myself by saying yes to just about everything. God has given me certain abilities, that when coupled with a passion for His church and a willing heart, I find myself just naturally ministering and serving in ways I had never imagined.
