High School Assistantoffice: 949.493.2006 x225vanessal@capochurch.comHow I got here
The Red Door has always held a special place in my heart. I experienced God so powerfully there when I was in high school and have precious memories of all the trips, events, friends, and mentors that impacted my life. I started volunteering with the ministry a few years ago when I moved home from college. I wanted to be a part of what God was doing there. I loved all the time I was able to spend helping on trips, Red Door Wednesday nights, and small groups. I prayed that God would make a way for me to have a job doing all the things I loved, and then He answered my prayer by making the Ministry Assistant position available to me!
What I do here
What I really love about my job is seeing how intricately involved God is in everything. There's so much prayer and preparation that goes into trips and events, and I am always amazed at how God inspires new things for each gathering to be unique.
Why I do what I do
I really enjoy the High School Ministry because high school can be a crazy time. It's a time of life when figuring out your identity can be really confusing, and there's all kinds of pressure to know your purpose and what you're going to do with your life. But when the truth about who you are, how God sees you, how He brings freedom and joy, when that message touches your heart and you encounter the living God, it's wonderful. You are unstoppable. Jesus is the one who has prepared the good works for us, He alone has plans for our future, and offers hope and promises. I feel like to be used by God to share that message, to share truth and His heart for all of us, and to see and hear testimonies of student's encounters with His truth, is the best thing in the world.
