I began working as a volunteer with the previous Bookstore Manager, Bobie Foster. When she made the decision to retire, about three years after I began volunteering, I applied for her position and was blessed to receive it. I believe God has used my assortment of retail, library, and Christian bookstore experience to lead me right here.
What I do here
As Bookstore Manager, I order and purchase all of our inventory, including Bibles, books, CDs, greeting cards, and an assortment of Christian oriented gifts. I, along with a super volunteer staff, keep the bookstore open for business 28 hours a week, serving the Capo Beach Church congregation in acquiring whatever resource they are looking for to enhance their relationship with the Lord.
Why I do what I do
I do what I do here at CBC to encourage people in their walk. If there is anything I can say or offer to someone to lift them up, or direct them to something in our bookstore that might give them hope or peace, it excites me. I know when that happens it is the Lord's doing through me, and I am so grateful for that moment.
