How I got here

CBC has been my church family since I moved here in 1987. I have loved the teachings of our pastors and so appreciate the vision CBC has in serving children around the world including Africa, Russia, Venezuela, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

I especially love the family of believers here. Their support, encouragement, and belief in me has helped grow me up in Christ Jesus.

What I do here

I have had the wonderful privilege of teaching Sunday School for the last 25 years.  I love being with kids of every age, but have mostly taught second through sixth grades.  In addition, I get to be with more kids as I visit an orphanage every month in Mexico!  We have organized Christmas and Easter celebrations with the kids, and every month we deliver birthday presents along with serving lunch (mostly pizza)!  The children love visitors and we love being with them!  I pray to continue to have energy to do this for the rest of my life.

Why I do what I do

Since I was ten years old, I wanted to have an orphanage. I believe God put that desire on my heart and then he fulfilled it. He gave me a love for the Mexican people, their language, and of course, their food! All my best friends in school were Mexican. I so envied their family gatherings and I wanted to be Mexican.

God also led me to a career teaching and helping children with special needs. I love children and I thank God for graciously giving me that love.

One way to stay in touch with us is through our Email Newsletter. These usually go out once a month with updates on our church events and perspectives from staff and leaders. We would love to keep in touch with you too!
