Tuesday - Psalm 103:3 (b)

“… and heals all your diseases.”   Psalm 103:3(b)

He heals all our diseases. Amazing to contemplate. In Christ we find forgiveness and we find healing. Jesus took our healing upon Himself by the stripes He bore for us on the cross. Isaiah 53:5 says, “By His stripes we are healed.”  We are healed. Because of Jesus we are healed.

But how does this work? Why are many of us still sick or feel sick. The truth is, we all experience sickness and all of us will eventually die.

We are also sick emotionally (how’s that for a feel good Tuesday? Haha).  We feel sick from what we have done, and we feel sick from what we are tempted to do. So, how are we truly healed when we are still sick? The healing talked about in this verse is a spiritual healing. In eternity, when we receive our eternal bodies and eternal homes, we will be entirely whole. When we are allowed to enter eternity through the sacrifice of Jesus, we are then totally and completely healed.

However, we also believe we can experience healing today. We pray for healing and we have seen God heal many of us physically and emotionally. Jesus cares about every part of our lives here. But, it is very important to know we are not entirely healed until we are with Him in heaven. Our bodies are dying every day, and this is the curse of sin we live with. We can experience healing in the here and now, and we do. But, we must recognize we will not be ultimately healed until we are with Jesus, as this verse describes.

Through Jesus, all our sin is paid for and our lives; body, soul and Spirit are completely healed. The healing of our soul comes when we find the place of trust in this life, God is in control and HE has delivered us, HE has healed us. I bow my knee to HIS will and timing. The entire fulfillment of this comes in eternity.

When we are healed, we are HOME.

Have you experienced a healing in your body? What happened? What is the story?

Isaiah 53:5 says we are healed by His stripes, what does this mean?

Imagine for a moment what it might be like to be completely healed from everything hurting in life. Sounds like heaven right? Describe your idea of what Heaven will be like.
