Thursday - Psalm 103:5
“ …Who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalms 103:5
Jesus wants to give us the desires of our hearts. Jesus satisfies us with good things. This gives us reason to praise Him, to bow our knees to Him in praise. Psalms 37:4 says, “Delight in the Lord and HE will give you the desires of your heart.” We serve a good God who loves us and wants us to be fulfilled, happy, joyful and satisfied!
Jesus knows what we want and He knows what we desire: He gave us our desires. Do you ever feel run down? Tired? Simply beaten up by the pressures of life? All of us have. If we want to change the atmosphere of our lives, the atmosphere of our homes and even in our cars, we can begin with praising God. When we stop, praise first and put Jesus as the center of our praise, we will be fulfilled and have the desires of our hearts met.
If I want to change the atmosphere where I’m at and the attitude I have, I play some worship music and sing along. Soon enough, my heart begins to change and the attitude in me and atmosphere around me is focused on Him. When we bow our knee to the will of God, we know within our hearts Jesus’ desire is for us to have our desires met. When we try and fulfill these desires ourselves, we get into all sorts of trouble. Satisfaction begins with God. True satisfaction is only found in God and in praising Him. Try it today.
When we are fulfilled, we are HOME.
What is the desire of your heart? Is there an unfulfilled desire? Write it down and present this desire to God. Bend your knee to His will in this situation and watch God at work in your life.
How is your energy these days? From what we have studied today, what can we do to improve our strength?
What does it mean to be truly satisfied? What does that look like to you?
