Monday - Psalm 103:1-3

“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.  Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits who forgives all your sins.”   Psalm 103:1-3

David commanded his soul to praise God. When I praise, I remember. When I praise I am filled. When I praise I am connected. When I praise there is something about the presence of God that reminds us of who He is and what He does for us. Praise reminds us we are home. When we are home we are secure, free, clean, connected, accepted, assured, happy, joyful, content, and at peace. At home, we remember that He forgives us. In Jesus we are forgiven.  Amazing.

When we kneel to God in praise we recognize we have been cleansed of all our sin, all our shortcomings, all of our past, all the hurt we have caused, all the destruction, all the pain … It’s all gone!

David commanded his soul to praise and remember who he is in God. David is forgiven. David was a murderer, an adulterer, a liar, and a home-wrecker … David was sinful.  So are we. David returned home when he remembered he was forgiven.

Today, command your soul to praise God, to kneel your will to the Lordship of Christ and remember you were bought for a price, you belong to God and He has forgiven all your sin.  You are His.  He is yours.

When we are reminded we are forgiven, we are HOME

Do you feel a hole in your life, a hole in your soul?  What can you do to fill it?

What part of your life could you offer in praise to return HOME to that place of fulfillment, forgiveness and completeness?

Completeness begins with Praise. What role do we as humans play in praising God?
